Letter from the President
The complex crossroads at which today’s society finds itself, both domestically and internationally, requires leaders who provide a vision of social priorities as well as paths that lead to achieving them sooner and better.
Germany has a tradition of very generous donations to public and private universities. This demonstrates the German population’s commitment to education. This country is very aware that education is the backbone of prosperity, and it also enables a big commitment to progress inside and outside Germany.
The IESE Stiftung Deutschland’s mission is to enable global understanding, the generating of ideas, innovation in teaching, and investment in people. We are facing many challenges such as justice, respect for the environment, distribution of resources and goods, gender equality und diversity. It is our foundation’s aim to gather those who are engaging with these causes in order to contribute to a better world and to leave a legacy for the next generation. One that is better than what we ourselves were able to find when we started our life journey. This requires leadership and a skilled and agile mindset.
In each project, together with the necessary financial support, we seek the opportunity to promote social improvement and increase the well-being of the many. In this sense, the Foundation understands that each grant is an investment in the future, made possible thanks to the generosity of many donors.
The Foundation collaborates with the IESE Endowment, made up mainly of donations, the net returns of which finance scholarships and research projects. This permanent endowment fund has a social nature and is invested under the expert guidance, in accordance with the principles of responsible investment. The investment process incorporates the opportunities and risks associates with sustainability, social responsibility and the good governance practices of companies (ESG).”
On behalf of the Board, I would like to express my gratitude for the generosity, support and the dedication of so many people that make the work of the IESE Stiftung Deutschland possible.
